Directory Submission

Directory submission is an important SEO technique. When your site is completed, your first duty is to submit your site URL to different directory. I will say to submit your site URL to ODP(Open Directory Project). It will take time to accept your site. Be patient, wait and see. Do not re-submit your site to the dmoz. If couple of months has gone and your site hasn’t been added to the open directory, ask help from their (dmoz.org) volunteers. You will be confirmed when your site is added to the directory. Do not submit incomplete site or less resourceful site to dmoz it will reject your site.

There are lots of directories – some are free and some are paid. If you submit your site to a paid directory it will take less time to be added in the directory list. But if you submit your site URL to the free directory it may take several weeks to several months to get listed in the directory. Do not get frightened to see the slow process. It is actually not slow. A lot of URLs are received by the free directory; they have to review it so it takes time to be got listed in the Directory.

Now come to the fact about google directory. If you have submitted your site to the Open Directory Project, you need not to submit your site to google directory. If and only if have not submitted your site to the DMOZ then submit your site to the google directory . Same condition is applicable for google as the ODP. It will also take plenty of time to get listed to the google directory. Google may not add your site after all. I will advise to submit your site to DMOZ first because it is not sure that google directory will take your site to its list.


Submit your site to yahoo directory have some quality backlinks. MSN directory will not be left.

To find more web directory use the google search at the bottom of the page. Type “add url” or “submit your site” or “web directory” then press search button and see the name of the web directory.

Build your backlinks

Backlinks are very important for SEO. So we need to know how to build a backlink. We can build backlinks in many ways. You can leave comments in blogs or forums. It is very easy to leave the link of your site with the comment. If your comments are attractive enough to draw the attention of the reader and impress him or her to click the link you provided with the comment you will have a visitor from that backlink. Easy isn’t it?

Leaving comment is not a permanent way to create backlinks. So we need another way.
Directory submission is another way to create backlink. It is very effective way to create backlinks. There are many free blog or website directory. You can easily submit your site or blog to these directories. You will not be noticed in the directory instantly after you have submitted your URL. You have to wait for sometimes. Do not resubmit your URL. The authority may ban your site if you submitted your site multiple times. Wait and see. Try to submit your URL to as many directories as possible. You may submit your URL to the paid directory. Paid directory acts quickly to make your site get noticed.

Find the site and blogs which are related to you. Get linked with them. Ask the webmaster before to get linked. To get more visitors you need to be a visitor too. I mean if you want to have some extra visitor, and then visit the relevant sites and blogs, leave comment praising their site or blogs with your link. As you praised their site or blog they will in respect give a visit to your site or blog.

Use social sites to create backlinks. Social sites may drive a lot of traffic to your site. Here is a chance to meet the people in the community and here you can promote your site very easily. If you provide quality content it would be very easy for you to draw the attention of the people of the community.

Write articles and submit them to the article directory with your site related topics and your URL. All the article directories may not support link.

Backlinks

Backlinks are the incoming links to a webpage or website. It is actually a link that comes from a web entity like website, webpage, article directory, web directory etc and is received by another web entity. Search engine treats a backlink as a positive vote to the corresponding web entity. At past search engine like google used the numbers of backlinks to determine the page rank. Some wicked people misused this technique to increase their page rank. So search engine changed their algorithm to find out if the backlinks are related to the site. It is heard that Google penalizes the site if the backlinks are unrelated.

Keyword Density

Keyword density means how many times the used keywords repeat. It is a very useful tool for SEO or search engine optimization. Search engine are not human being, they cannot understand the quality of a site if it is not optimized properly. While search engine bots crawl the site it can only count the keyword density. It also sees whether the keywords used are relevant to the site or not. It is not so easy to increase keyword density unless you practise. I suggest to practise your writing with the keyword. Do not put only keyword on the site. If so search engine may ban your site. Think clearly about your niche. Now think what words or phrases people may search in the search engine. You may use different tool to see which keywords are highly used. I suggest you to write topics about the most searched topics. Although it tough to master a topic which is unrelated to you. However to increase your keyword density try to describe the topic elaborately so that you can use the keywords multiple time. Increasing keyword density does not mean that you will write all the sentences you can make with the keyword. I recommend you to make the sentences semantically correct. Try to use keyword in the title and Meta tag. Although it is said that Meta tag is not so important today but I think the proper use of meta tag is still useful in SEO. Never leave the title blank. Keep at least one keyword in the title. Try to keep priority on few keywords with good density. Try to focus a keyword in a page. It is hard to maintain multiple keywords density in a page as you have to make meaningful content. Make each of your page keyword rich for a separate keyword. Do not repeat the same sentence. You can repeat a sentence if and only if it is very very important. It may be harmful if you use unnecessary sentences multiple times. Very high density of keywords may also harm your site as search engine will assume your site as a spammer’s one. It is not necessary that your topics would be lengthy, but your site must be keyword rich.
